There
was more continuity than change this quarter, particularly
across the two 'size' tables where the usual suspects
continue to rule the roost.
Cazenove
again boasts the largest listed company clientele, extending
its lead by a further seven company clients over second-placed
UBS Warburg Ltd. HSBC retains third place ahead of the
consistent Brewin Dolphin Securities Ltd. At the bottom
end of the table, Williams de Broe drops out, as its
total client figures no longer meet the 5% qualification
needed to extend the rankings beyond the top ten stockbrokers.
Cazenove
also continues to dominate the sector in terms of clients
making the most profit. Hoare Govett, however, jumps
one place to second, swapping positions with last quarter's
runner-up, UBS Warburg Ltd.
There
was much more movement in the 'growth' tables, with
Beeson Gregory the biggest loser. Previously number
one in both rankings, Beeson drops seven rungs to
eighth in the fastest growing clients table, and two
places to third place in the table ranking clients
with the fastest increasing earnings. Old Mutual Securities,
by contrast, jumps five places to fifth in the former
table, and four places to fourth in the latter.
