A
gain of 2.5 listed company clients was enough
to secure top slot for Slaughter and May in the
rankings of solicitors by size of clients. Eversheds
lost first place by only 0.5 of a client, with
Ashurst Morris Crisp dropping a place to third.
The minor rankings saw little movement.
In
the other 'size' table, Slaughters again took first
place, displacing Linklaters & Alliance who
held off a strong challenge from podium newcomer,
Freshfields Brukhaus Deringer, who jumped a whopping
five places. This feat was equalled by Clifford
Chance, up from eleventh to fifth place, while Norton
Rose fell four places to ninth.
Clifford
Chance continued its strong showing in the two 'growth'
tables. It again tops the rankings of solicitors
with the fastest growing clients, ahead of the evergreen
Norton Rose. Eversheds leapt seven places to take
third place. The two big casualties in this table
were Freshfields, down five places to eighth, and
Hammond Suddards Edge, down five places to eleventh.
Norton
Rose did, however, succeed in taking first place
in the fastest increasing earnings table, ahead
of last quarter's number one, Norton Rose. Linklaters
held on to third place. Eversheds climbed four
places to fifth, while Hammond Suddards Edge lost
a whopping eighth places to finish eleventh.
