BANKSIDE
CONSULTANTS NUDGE BELL
POTTINGER OUT OF THE
TABLES
Six
months after entering the tables, Bell Pottinger is out,
falling victim to Bankside Consultants, whose total of
40 stockmarket company clients was enough for it to gain
tenth place in the listings. At the top end of the rankings,
Weber Shandwick/Square Mile retains its top slot, while
the two runners-up swap places, Financial Dynamics regaining
second position and Buchanan Communications dropping a
rung to third.
The
same two firms dominate the other 'size' table, that
ranking financial PR firms by cients' aggregate pretax
profits. Financial Dynamics retains first place, opening
up the gap between itself and the consistently second-placed
Brunswick. Last quarter's third placed firm, Bell Pottinger,
has dropped out of the table, leaving the way clear
for Weber Shandwick/Square Mile to take the remaining
podium position. The table's biggest loser is Citibank
Dewe Rogerson, losing six places to finish last. Newcomer
Bankside Consultants have made themselves at home at
number eight.
Citigate's
woes continue in the two 'growth' rankings, falling two
places to tenth spot in the earnings table, and five places
to tenth spot in the pretax growth table. By contrast,
Lansons Communications had two reasons to celebrate, topping
both tables following the previous quarter's meteoric
ascendance up the rankings. Binns have taken the runner-up
position in the listing of firms whose clients posted
the fastest increasing earnings, ahead of Brunswick, and
third place in the table of fastest growing clients, behind
Hudson Sandler.
