BUCHANAN
CEMENTS ITS POSITION, BELL POTTINGER BOUNCES BACK
Buchanan
Communications' latest performance shows that its top
slot last quarter in the table of most number of stock
market clients was no flash in the pan.
Indeed,
the firm has cemented its position over the last three
months; its net gain this quarter of seven new stock market
clients gives it a healthy margin of eleven companies
over second placed Financial Dynamics, whose client count
has dropped by four over the past three months.
Square
Mile BSMG Worldwide retains its third place ahead of Citigate
Dewe Rogerson. The only marked change at the bottom end
of the table is the re-appearance, at number ten, of Bell
Pottinger Financial.
Securing
sufficient clients to allow it to reappear in the listings
of largest listed company clients is Bell Pottinger's
passport to strong showings elsewhere in the adviser rankings.
In the other 'size' table, that lists PR firms whose clients
report the highest pretax profits, Bell Pottinger re-appears
at number three, behind the evergreen Brunswick, who are
top dog for yet another quarter, and the ever consistent,
second-placed Financial Dynamics.
The
rest of the profit table remains unchanged from last quarter.
Bell
Pottinger also re-appears in the table of clients with
the fastest increasing earnings in at number one.
Its average increase in listed company client earnings
per share of 12.1% is the only performance in double figures,
comfortably ahead of second placed Binns & Co Public
Relations (7.2%) and third placed College Hill (1.7%).
Hudson
Sandler heads the other growth table, that of fastest
growing clients, with the only listed companies to post
an average increase in pretax profits. A collapse in its
clientele's pretax profits drops last quarter's runner
up, Square Mile BSMG Worldwide, to lanterne rouge, allowing
Buchanan Communications to take over second position this
quarter, ahead of Bell Pottinger.
